Drugstore Makeup

Makeup is something we use to enhance our natural beauty and it can be super fun to play around with. That doesn’t mean that it has to break the bank though. I think a lot of people think that in order to get a good product you have to spend $$$ but that is not true. Today on my instagram IGTV I shared with you my typical daily makeup routine with all drug store products! I have never been one who likes to go all out with my makeup (I like a more wow look once in a while haha) but for everyday I like to keep it really simple. I also do not have time to spend more than 15 minutes, so these products make it so easy!

All of the products I am using you can buy at Walmart, Target or any of your local drug stores. I love these products because they do not leave my face feeling cakey or oily from having the product on. My face still feels natural and that to me is EVERYTHING. There is nothing I hate more than feeling like my face is dirty because then I just want to rip off all my makeup (no joke). I am only using 8 products and it takes me about 10-15 minutes to get ready!

 Let’s get into it!

 1. Revlon colorstay brow pencil(blonde)

I have been using this brow pencil for a little over a year now and I haven’t found a  better one. I love the two sides because one is the pencil and one is a       brush so you can comb through your brows and smudge out the pencil when done for a more natural look. This is also the only thing I use on days I do not  wear any makeup (having my eyebrows slightly filled in makes all the difference to me)

2. Maybelline The Rocket mascara(401 very black)

In my tutorial on instagram, I use the Covergirl Lash Blast Active (I like this one but it is not my favorite, I was trying this one out and did not have the Maybelline). The Maybelline Rocket is my FAVORITE drugstore mascara. I tried it back when I was in high school and always go back to it because it gives great volume. The applicator brush is good for achieving length and will not clump your lashes.

3. Maybelline Instant Age Rewind concealer(120light for winter & medium for summer)

I have always struggled with darker under eye circles (I think it’s partially genetics because both my mom and sister have them too) but since having Joey I think they have gotten a little darker haha This is the only drug store concealer that I have found that covers up dark eyes this well! It is super buildable so if you want more coverage you can just add an extra layer (I do about two layers and I am satisfied with the coverage). In my tutorial I am using shade 120light but when I am a little tanner I use shade medium.

4. Neutrogena Hydro Boost hydrating tint(40nude for winter & 60natural beige for summer)

I have talked about using neutrogena products before and loving them! This is no different. I tried this hydrating tint because for day to day I do not want full coverage. I just want something to even out my skin tone and cover up some redness. I have tried different tinted moisturizers in the past but I have not found one that doesn’t leave my face feeling cakey. This hydrating tint by neutrogena is SO GOOD. It literally just makes your face look even and you do not feel like you are wearing it at all. You can add layers to build on it and get a little more coverage but this is really meant for just a light layer for evenness.  In my tutorial I am using shade 40nude but when I am a little tanner I would use shade 60natural beige.

5. Physicians Formula butter bronzer – (bronzer)

Best drugstore bronzer hands down! You can even go on amazon and check out the amazon reviews. They have different shades but I like using the shade bronzer because it is more brown and not as orange.

6. NYX tinted brow mascara – (blonde)

So on the days I do not wear makeup I will just use the revlon brow pencil and be done but on days I do my makeup I put a light layer of this on top. It just adds a little more color and sets my brows really well. It does not make them super hard, I can still move my eyebrows but it just gives the perfect color and helps them hold shape.

7. Airspun loose face powder –  (naturally neutral & translucent)

I use two different ones (you could honestly just use either or & stick to one) but I like to use the shade naturally neutral to set my T-zone and my under eyes. It just adds a little extra coverage since the powder is tinted. Then once I am done with my bronzer, I like to go in with the shade translucent all over my face to finish setting my makeup. This setting powder smells really good and it does a good job of keeping my makeup in place all day long. Best drug store one I have found.

8. Covergirl eyeliner pencil (basic black & black brown)

So I like to change it up and I either use shade brown or black depending on if I want a little more natural or a little more something haha I do not wear mascara on my bottom lashes (personal preference) so I just take the pencil on my lower lid and smudge it out at the end. That is why I love these pencils because they are double sided. One side color and one side smudge.

Brushes I used:

You can watch the full tutorial by checking out my instagram, it is posted as an IGTV! I still think that the key to makeup application is a good skincare routine. If your skin is prepped and ready you will have a much easier time applying your makeup and you will find that you will like the final look better!

Thank you for reading! Comment down below if you have ever tried any of these products already!
