Joey’s 4 Months

Ohh my gosh! You guys, my baby is already 4 months! How crazy is that, time flew by so fast. It’s Just as if I was finding out I was pregnant yesterday. I seriously can’t believe it as I am starting to type this post. I thought it would be fun to start a monthly update on how Joey is doing, maybe until he is one year old? I’m not sure yet but I think for at least a couple more months. He changes so much even from day to day. I want to always be the first to see him doing new things but that is just not possible. I feel like I blink and I miss like 300 different things haha any other mamas feel me on that?!?

So… Joey is smiling like crazy! He started to smile AT us since he was maybe around 2.5 months, but as of a couple weeks, he will literally just look at me and shoot me the biggest smile. I can not even begin to express how it makes me feel. I love him so much that it actually hurts to think about. He is also starting to enter that age where he actually recognizes people and is becoming attached. My favorite is when I am not home and whoever is watching him facetimes me and he actually smiles!! Let’s just say that baby boy loves his mama. He is starting to cry if I am not the one holding him and while this may be a little overwhelming at times (mama needs a break here and there) knowing that he feels safe and wants to be held in my arms all day long is the best feeling in the world! I think that parenthood is 100% not easy but it is 100% worth it. You can have the hardest day but that one precious moment you share with your baby makes it all worthwhile.

Joey is already wearing size 3 diapers and has been since he turned 3 months. I have been told that size 3 is the one they will stay in for a while but I don’t know if I believe it. I swear, they are already looking a little tight!! He is for sure a big boy. At his last appointment he was around 16lbs and 26 inches tall. I am sure that by now he is closer to 18lbs and at least an inch taller. Joey is definitely a long baby but no surprise because both Joe and I are tall. I am still waiting for him to get a little chunky since the rolls have not really come in yet. He has one on his cute little legs but that is about it. Joey is also on the slimmer side and we are waiting for his weight to catch up to his height growth. He is eating 6oz bottles though, so definitely eating enough, just growing super fast!

We are beyond grateful and know how blessed we are to have a healthy baby. Both Joe and I hoped and prayed that everything would be okay with our little man. So to see him thriving everyday makes our hearts so happy. I want to share some of Joey’s current favorites activities with you guys! He isn’t always up for all of them everyday (tummy time in mind) but we try to switch it up depending on his mood.

Joey loves:

  • Tummy time
  • He LOVES bathes
  • Playing with his fingers and starting to grab objects
  • Kicking (his feet never stop moving!)
  • He loves to look at lights
  • Eating his hands! (Oh my god he could do this all day!)
  • Staring at his fists
  • Socializing with others (especially his dad! I swear Joe can get him to talk the most out of anyone!)
  • And his new favorite- the swing! (If you do not know what I am talking about, I posted a video to an instagram highlight you should go check out! It is this bouncer we attach to the door frame that he is IN LOVE with)

I want to keep this short and sweet so I’ll end it by saying:

“Baby boy you are so loved. I wake up everyday beyond grateful to be your mama. You have brought so much joy and happiness into our life that I can not even begin to explain. The love I have for you is indescribable and I can not wait for the millions of more memories we will all make together. I love you!”

-With love, Kasia
